“Columbine Clusters” is a sculptural homage to the native Utah columbine, reimagined at an architectural scale. Each towering bloom—rising 8 feet high with 4-foot diameters and 6-foot petal extensions—transforms botanical delicacy into luminous monument. Petals of finely cut, weather-resistant polycarbonate shimmer under the glow of RGB LED spotlights, while chromatic teal steel stems anchor the forms with quiet strength.
Arranged in clusters, these floral giants create a surreal garden of light and shadow. By day, they echo the elegance of alpine flora; by night, they become radiant beacons, casting intricate patterns that invite reflection and pause.
“Columbine Clusters” blurs the boundary between organic form and engineered structure, offering a space where nature’s geometry is both celebrated and transformed. It stands as a testament to the enduring beauty of the natural world, reinterpreted through the lens of contemporary art and technology.
